IPS Nanak Singh has been appointed “to look after the work of DIG Patiala Rang.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Nanak Singh has been appointed “to look after the work of DIG Patiala Range. In Nanak Singh’s place, Varun Sharma has been appointed as the new Patiala SSP.

Nanak Singh’s new posting was announced Saturday in orders issued by the Home Department of the Punjab government. In total, 10 police officers have been given new assignments, including Varinder Kumar, former Chief Director Vigilance, who has been appointed as Special DGP, Punjab State Human Rights Commission. He was kept without any assignment for the last two and a half months after his sudden removal from the Vigilance Bureau on February 17.

Kuldeep Singh Chahal, who was removed as Commissioner of LUDHIANA Police in March, has also been given a new assignment after more than a month. He has been posted as Deputy Inspector General (Technical Services).

Assistant Director General of Police (ADGP) NRI Affairs Praveen Kumar Sinha, who was holding additional charge of the Intelligence Branch as well as Chief Director Vigilance, has now been given permanent charge of these two departments, and R K Jaiswal has been appointed as ADGP NRI Affairs.
